Fresh features urban farmer & activist, Will Allen, the recipient of Mac­Arthur’s 2008 Genius Award, and farmer and entrepreneur, Joel Salatin, featured in Michael Pollan’s book, The Omnivore’s Dilemma, among others.

Vik collaborates with the brilliant catadores, pickers of recyclable materials, true Shakespearean characters who live and work in the garbage quoting Machiavelli and showing us how to recycle ourselves.

David Suzuki, iconic Canadian scientist, educator, broadcaster and activist delivers a last lecture —what he describes as “a distillation of my life and thoughts, my legacy, what I want to say before I die.” Filmed before a live audience, in front of a memory box of moving, distilled images, he articulates a core, urgent message: we have exhausted the limits of the biosphere and it is imperative that we re-think our relationship with the natural world. Suzuki looks at the strains on our interconnected web of life and out of our dire present circumstances, he offers up a blueprint for sustainability and survival.

Friendly fire replaces competitive spirit as the pair pick up where they left off, and Sunny realizes the future holds more than a well-stocked shoe counter.

God Went Surfing with the Devil charts the difficulties and dangers of surfing in Gaza, where in 2007 it was discovered that a small group of young men were surfing with their battered boards. Word traveled and a group of Israelis and Americans delivered a dozen boards to their Palestinian counterparts prior to to spring of 2008 when they would attempt to deliver another 23 surfboards amidst sealed borders and daily military activity.
